A weekly review stops small tasks from piling up. Use this checklist and keep it short.

Checklist

  1. Clear inboxes. Empty your notes, messages and email to one list.
  2. Look back. Open last week’s calendar. What happened? What slipped, and why?
  3. Check commitments. Scan the next two weeks for events and deadlines.
  4. Choose three priorities for the coming week. Everything else is secondary.
  5. Block time for those three in your calendar. See time blocking.
  6. Set reminders for deadlines and appointments with lead time. See reminders that work.
  7. Tidy. Delete or reschedule stale tasks.

Keep it light

  • Use the same template every week.
  • Do not plan 100 percent of your time.
  • Celebrate what got done.

A planner app helps if it shows week view, repeating events and reliable reminders. Browse the planning apps.
